Facilitating Application Activities

This chapter offers a broad collection of ideas on planning and facilitating 4-S activities in the classroom as well as a collection of concrete examples illustrating a range of forms that simultaneous reporting can take. It also offers some helpful ideas about preparing for and facilitating successful application activities. The methods and processes are only suggestions. As the readers become a more experienced Team-Based Learning (TBL) practitioner, this kind of methodical, heavily detailed planning will likely become a smaller and smaller part of the readers&s; preparation. Many TBL practitioners have found it helpful to use team folders to organize application activity materials. One of the most challenging aspects of implementing TBL is figuring out how to accomplish the final S (simultaneous reporting) in the 4-S application activities. The chapter explores the various options for simultaneous reporting.
