From a development perspective, logging usually means including a logging library like Slf4j, Log4j or Logback, and adding logging statements to the code. Loggers then append logging information to a file, reporting functional or technical events that occur while the application is running. The logging information can be used to troubleshoot problems or for auditing purposes.
