Gain-Probability Diagrams
David Trafimow · 2023
Chapter 6 showed how to calculate sample sizes necessary to obtain sample statistics that are good estimates of corresponding population parameters. However, once researchers obtain data and compute sample statistics, it is not yet clear what else they can do to gain valuable insights from their data. The present chapter addresses that issue by showing how to make gain-probability diagrams that illustrate the probabilities of being better or worse off, with than without the treatment, to varying degrees.
