Expanding the Frequency Range of 2nd Order Sinewave Oscillators with Composite Amplifiers

This paper describes ongoing research work to evaluate the adoption of composite amplifier structures as part of sinewave oscillators, aiming to extend the range of frequencies for operation. This aims to find a robust solution suitable for use in frequency and time measurement systems inspired by bats, for use in IoT applications, especially when energy restrictions play an important role. Therefore, besides high performance, energy consumption is also a key factor. Preliminary results from simulations demonstrate the expected functionalities. Ongoing research work is being carried out to improve oscillator performance.
