Latent D-scoring Method

Dimiter M. Dimitrov · 2023

This chapter presents the latent version of the D -scoring method of measurement, DSM-L, which can be seen as a latent “mirror” of the classical version, DSM-C, as they share the same scale and analytic models of item response functions, but differ in approaches (latent vs. classical) used for the estimation of person and item parameters, and standard error of estimates. Presented here are DSM-L models for item response functions (IRFs), item and test information functions, standard error of estimates, rescaling of D -scores obtained via different estimation approaches, and RFM-based estimation of person and item parameters.
