Deep-Learning-Based Medical Image Synthesis Methods

In this chapter, we review the recent developments of the deep learning-based studies for medical imaging synthesis. We classified these methods into neural networks (NNs), convolutional neural networks (CNNs), fully convolution networks (FCNs), and generative adversarial networks (GANs) based on their network architecture designs. The survey of literature includes discussions of the network architecture designs, highlights important contributions, and identifies specific challenges.
