Single time constant circuits

The simplest of circuits characterized by single time constants and designed using resistive and capacitive elements for active-RC method based on current-mode techniques are to be studied in this chapter. The need of integrators, differentiators and first order filters is highlighted through the current-mode approach. The various circuits presented are based on current conveyors of different types. Multifunction filters of first order are also presented. The tuning of such filters is exhibited by employing current controlled current conveyors. The emphasis is given to first order all-pass filters owing to the application of this function in various higher order analog circuits. Many circuits given in this chapter are shown to be useful for design of higher order circuits, which are to be presented in the subsequent chapters.
