Text Categorization and Affinities

This chapter contains implementations of advanced NLP applications surrounding text categorization and affinities. These applications include topic modeling, text similarity, text classification, and sentiment analysis. There are several tools in the natural language processing space that can be leveraged to aid with building these applications, such as open-sourced pre-trained machine learning models and text processing methods. Each application is accompanied by Python code for several tool options for the task, including pre-trained models and training custom models using classic machine learning, deep learning, and Transformers, along with examples showcasing the outcomes of the implementations. Often these applications are either used stand-alone or in conjunction with other NLP applications to make a larger NLP project.
