Role of IoT Enabling Smart Agricultural Society

The introduction of connectivity between different types of “things” for assuring correct communication and effective and effective information passing has been made possible by the evolution of new information and communication technologies, inexpensive and efficient sensors, and other devices. Internet of Things (IoT) expanded as a result of this. IoT transforms physical resources into intelligent entities by utilizing already-built network infrastructures. Its main goal is to deliver intelligent, seamless services to users without any hiccups. IoT enables items to exchange data and automate processes without physical interference, making them “smart.” IoT is used in our daily lives with ease in a community filled with various physical devices and things connected by the internet, with sensors covering every area of the city and agricultural work. This chapter discusses the impact of IoT in different areas, especially in ushering in the era of Smart Agriculture leading to the development of Society 5.0.
