Underwater Image Restoration Using Color Correction and Empirical Mode Decomposition

Amarendra Kumar Mishra, Mahipal Singh Choudhry, Manjeet Kumar · 2023

Underwater imaging plays a significant role in discovering assets in the ocean. Underwater images are not visible due to the presence of noise and artifacts in the sea. The author proposed a technique to resolve this problem. In this article, the degraded underwater image applies to empirical mode decomposition after color correction to enhance the image. The suggested approach is compared to the existing state-of-the-art method. The picture has been taken from the UIEB data set for qualitative and quantitative analysis. Compared to traditional procedures, the suggested method produces superior enhanced images with improved visual quality.
