The Internet of Things (IoT) leads the world toward Smartness. Smart items bring the whole world into human hands. Many of the attacks are happening behind the smart items. In the IoT environment, two types of attacks have occurred namely Data attacks and Routing path attacks. This proposed Enhanced Secure Communication by Detecting and Removing Wormhole Attack using Schnorr Digital Signature in IoT Networks (ESWSIoT) protocol deals with wormhole attacks and removes the wormhole from the network. The secured shortest path is established between the source and destination. Then the source node uses Schnorr Digital Signature Scheme (SDSS) to encrypt and sign the original data. This proposed protocol enhances secured communication with attack free shortest path. The simulation process has been done in Contiki OS, Cooja simulator. The proposed protocol is compared with the existing method and the simulation results show the proposed protocol works better than existing methods in the way of increasing Packet Delivery Ratio, Throughput, and decreasing Latency, Energy Consumption.
