Strengthening Data Security of India using a mixed approach of Cryptography and Steganography Techniques: A Review

There has been steady growth in many internet applications for digital communication. Therefore, there is a need to provide secure communication on the network, in particular for intelligence agencies and armed forces. Consequently, transmitting data security over a network is essential to network performance. Both Cryptography and Steganography are used individually to ensure data security by encrypting and hiding the data. Still, a single approach is not enough to protect the data, especially confidential one, from unauthorized access. Therefore, a combined approach of Cryptography and Steganography can be utilized to ensure a high level of data security. This paper includes a theoretical review of different combination techniques already in use with their limitations to achieve a hybrid system for enhancing data security. Moreover, this paper outlines some differences between steganography and cryptography.
