Machine Learning Based Theoretical and Experimental Analysis of DDoS Attacks in Cloud Computing

Researchers frequently turn to cloud computing due to its services, applications, and advantages. It boosts the accessibility of resources over the internet, which leads to risk because data is transmitted over an unsecured network. Various cyber- attacks affect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) of systems connected via the internet. The massive threat posed by Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) keeps rising quickly. Due to their ability to pass as legitimate traffic, most DDoS attacks remain undetectable. Implementing intrusion detection systems (IDS) can help to partially resolve these challenges. Hence, the authors have focused on DDoS attacks in this paper and implemented the state of art Machine learning (ML) approaches to analyze the performance. The article will serve as a stepping stone for new researchers in the area of cloud security.
