Telecommunication networks have gone through a tremendous transformation in recent years with the introduction of fifth-generation (5G) networks, software-defined networks (SDN), mobile edge computing (MEC), and network function virtualization (NFV). These changes have introduced several use cases and application scenarios that require different configuration and management services from the service providers. Network slicing is the key technology that fulfills these necessities of the customers. Several simulators have been developed to simulate network slicing within 5G networks. This article presents a comparative analysis of different 5G simulators that support network slicing and the features these simulators provide.
