Research on the Application of Cross-Regional Sharing of Blockchain-Based Electronic Health Records

Ruping Wang, Jun Tu, Chaochen Chu · 2023

In the cross-domain field of IoT medical data, hospitals need to share patient medical records, and patients need to know the use of medical records in a timely manner. This paper proposed an electronic health record shared model to different regions based on blockchain. This model takes the Consortium Blockchain as the base, Internet technologies such as cloud and blockchain are used to collaboratively manage residents' electronic health record data. Based on the consortium blockchain, a cross-domain sharing method of electronic medical record data of regional hospitals is proposed by sharing and storing data through cloud chain collaboration. At the same time, an improved practical Byzantine fault-tolerant consensus algorithm is used to make block transactions reach consensus efficiently. Then, the attribute-based encryption technology was used to realize the searchability and sharing of data. Users encrypt the real data to the cloud server by setting attributes, and store the access policy and index in the blockchain to ensure the security of data. Finally, the experimental results and performance analysis of the proposed scheme are given, which prove the feasibility and efficiency of the model.
