On Significance of the Kalman Filter in an Automotive Visual Perception System

We present an example of use of the Kalman Filter in an automotive visual perception system. We find that with appropriate temporal object association block, the Kalman Filter provides excellent estimates of positions, velocities, and accelerations of detected objects.
