Animated and Oil Painting Image Generation from Real World Images using Super-Pixel based SLIC Algorithm

Now-a-days people are connected to one or the other social media platforms. Individual's privacy preserving is a challenging problem as images posted can go viral in the media. So, cartoon images are shared to enhance the individual's privacy. On the other hand, political cartoons primary goal is to humorously express a view or a fact about a political issue or viewpoint. Sophisticated image processing filters and other ML or DL techniques are usually applied for transformation of real-world photos into cartoon and oil painting images. This paper introduces a novel Super-Pixel-SLIC algorithm which converts the original images into animated or oil painting images. We have implemented ML based cartoonizing techniques and proposed Super-Pixel based SLIC algorithm. Amongst all the techniques, the proposed algorithm transformed efficiently in terms of time of execution and sharpness of the image.
