General Python Programming

Martin Tan · Apress eBooks · 2023

Although this chapter is called “General Python,” if you expected a generic and detailed rundown on “how to program in Python,” then you may be sorely disappointed. Years ago, information was sparse and learning something often meant searching for multiple books or people who could explain the same thing in lots of different ways, one of which would hopefully make sense. These days, where we are practically drowning in information overload, it is very much the opposite case, that is, sometimes it can be easier to filter everything down to only the essential information we need. More specifically, in this chapter the “General” part of the title refers more to using Python on a computer that is running an operating system (OS) than on a small microcontroller board that only runs a small blob of firmware.
