Effectiveness of Using OWASP TOP 10 as AppSec Standard

Application Security (AppSec) includes variety of practices included in software development process with aim to minimize software vulnerabilities. The goal of this research was to emphasize lack of AppSec standards, the importance of it and what are the consequences with main focus on nowadays most known project about web application security – OWASP top 10. Authors of this research tried to, using practical examples and real-life scenarios, represent the benefits of including OWASP top 10 awareness document in the process of AppSec programs development. As a result of this research, it would be demonstrated how OWASP top 10 actually has the most realistic representation of nowadays security threats.
