Software-Defined Networking (SDN) makes network management simpler to configure, more flexible, and more secure than traditional methods. The primary objective of SDN is to decouple the network configuration (control plane) from the routing of traffic (data plane). Implementing load balancing on the SDN is essential to maintain the network's performance at the required level. The present research sets up an experimental test for implementing and comparing four load balancing algorithms, such as (Random, RR, WRR, and LC), using a Mininet emulator and an Open Flow switch connected to a POX. The effectiveness of the comparison process is evaluated according to many parameters, including the workload, degree of load balancing, and time values such as Max-Time, Min-Time, Average-Time, and Response Time., also evaluated by generating different numbers of packets transmitted (300,3000,15000,45000) and different sizes of packets (1M, 10M, 25M, 50M, 75M) with work in a homogeneous environment. Depending on the evaluation results, the LC algorithm was the best of the other algorithms as it achieved the highest accuracy for the workload metric$(\text{LC}=99.87\%)$and the average RT metric$(\text{LC}=97.6\%)$, and the second highest accuracy for the average degree of LB metric$(\text{Random}=98.7\%,\text{LC}=96.9\%)$.
