In recent years, Automotive E/E(electrical/electronic) architectures have been changing to a Communication Gateway (CoGW) Architecture from a Central Gateway (CeGW) Architecture. To realize this, CoGW requires cloud services with connected cars, in addition to the communication between local ECUs found in CeGW. Comparing with recent CeGWs [1], multi-giga-bit Ethernet communications and 30kDMIPS application processing are required for the CoGW processor. On the other hand, <50ms Control Area Network (CAN) start-up time for car control and <2mW standby to save battery are required for car safety control. Moreover, the threat of cyberattack such as spoofing of cloud service increases with external connections, and measures to mitigate this are required. Thus, the CoGW processor must achieve all such requirements while avoiding any safety and security risks.
