A Two-stage Trunk Reservation Control Method corresponding to General Call Priority using Switch Outside Disaster Area

Yoichiro Arii, K. Yamaoka, Ken‐ichi Baba · 2023

In case of emergency, a huge number of call requests cause congestion in the network including subscriber telephones, VoIP and mobile phones. Furthermore, since the quality and importance of information differs between calls inside the disaster area and calls from outside the disaster area, such as requesting relief supplies, confirming safety and the disaster situation, the call admission control has been proposed in consideration of these differences. In this paper, we proposed a two-stage trunk reservation control using two bases outside the disaster area and inside the disaster area in order to control the call blocking probability ratio inside and outside the disaster area. As a result of the simulation, it was shown that the proposed method can control the upper limit of the capacity of general calls outside the disaster area while suppressing the influence of the call traffic intensity ratio inside and outside the disaster area on the call blocking probability.
