In Chapter 3, we looked at some of the key design decisions that we need to make when deploying Azure SQL DB Hyperscale into our environment. This also gave us the opportunity to identify and examine some of the key features of Hyperscale in more detail. In this chapter and the next four, we’re going to demonstrate these key features of Hyperscale by deploying a more comprehensive example into an Azure environment. This environment will be representative of how a Hyperscale database will usually be deployed in production. You can also perform the steps described in the following chapters in your own Azure subscription to configure the same environment.
