Testing the Communication Range of Ibeacon Technology

The ibeacon technology is relatively young and its use is mainly in localization and marketing systems. It is a technology using Bluetooth, the basic element of which is a beacon that sends a signal about its position to the surroundings at regular intervals. Thanks to its parameters, it is an ideal system for localization systems in indoor spaces.The aim of the article, as well as our long-term research, is the use of ibeacon technology in localization and tracking systems with the aim of knowing the movement of a person or thing. As part of learning the possibilities of the technology, we have carried out several researches, the aim of which was to determine the communication distance for the needs of the subsequent design of the system in a real environment. Within the article, the results of the range of one type of beacon to several receiving devices are presented.
