Special interest tracks and posters of the 14th international conference on World Wide Web

On behalf of the program committee, welcome to the Industrial and Practical Experience track of WWW2005, the 14th International World Wide Web Conference. We received many excellent papers as submissions and it is unfortunate that our schedule constraints did not allow us to accept all of them. The number of submissions was forty one, from which we accepted eight. All submissions were submitted to three referees, all received at least two reviews and most received three. In addition to the eight talks corresponding to the accepted refereed papers, we have six invited speakers who will present what we anticipate will be excellent talks. Finally, we have assembled a panel of five distinguished members to discuss the ways in which search engines have and will affect the evolution of the web.
