The watermark technique is a security algorithm for medical images and patient data. Watermarking is used to maintain the robustness, integrity, confidentiality, authentication, and complexity of medical images. Multi-criteria decision-making is an automatic technique that selects the watermarking techniques used for medical image security. Other traditional methods for algorithm selection are not accurate. Moreover, they can be unreliable for linguistic evaluation. Hence, this study proposes the Multi-criteria-based Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy process (FAHP) as the most appropriate technique for the watermarking of medical images. The main purpose of this chapter is to apply FAHP method for selection of watermarking techniques for medical image security. This method can be applied for algorithm selections for medical image security in healthcare. This method firstly determines the list of criteria and alternatives that directly affect the decision of medical image security selection algorithm. Thereafter, the proposed method is applied on the criteria and the alternatives. The results in weights (ranks) are deduced to establish the accuracy and the reliability of the approach.
