Abstract Since complex cyber‐attacks and inter‐agent competition pose security risks to multi‐agent systems (MASs), the problem of bipartite consensus control under complex cyber‐attacks studied in this article is more challenging and practical than normal consensus. Firstly, a sliding surface for designing control inputs is presented to overcome the effects of external disturbances and false data injection attacks. The event‐triggered mechanism is constructed to reduce control consumption, and the avoidance of Zeno behavior is demonstrated by analyzing the trigger interval lower bound. Then, considering the existence of aperiodic denial‐of‐service (DoS) attacks, the attack model is analyzed in detail, and the stability of the MAS under complex cyber‐attacks is proved by adopting an inductive way and selecting an appropriate Lyapunov function. Finally, the effectiveness of the presented event‐based control protocol can be seen by simulation.
