Construction of Polar Code using Code Spectrum

The construction of Polar code algorithm using reliability can be proved to be optimal under successive cancellation (SC) decoding algorithm, but for successive cancellation list (SCL) decoding algorithm, the construction method using reliability alone is not optimal. Based on the existing reliability construction method, this paper proposes a Polar code construction scheme which takes reliability and code spectrum into consideration, designs a new coding rule, and reduces the bit error rate (BER) without significantly increasing the coding complexity. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the original Polar code construction algorithm in SCL decoding.
