Constrained Adaptive Monopulse Estimation for Planar Arrays

In presence of the near mainlobe jamming, the typical adaptive digital beamforming leads to a distortion of monopulse ratio, which results in the failure of target angle estimation. This paper investigates how the jammer affects the adaptive monopulse and proposes a novel constrained adaptive monopulse algorithm for planar arrays to correct the angle bias due to the distortion of the beams when the jammer gets close to the detection beam. Simulation results show that performance of the proposed method is superior to that of the classical method.
