Introduction to Genetic Algorithm

The chapter introduces a novel type of classical algorithm for intelligent search and optimization problems that mimic the biological evolutionary process. After a brief introduction to the components of the objective function, objectives and and how to solve any objective function using optimization techniques are explained. According to characteristics of the constraint, different categories of optimization techniques with suitable examples are followed by different steps of the genetic algorithm and its application in different domain. The chapter ends with a discussion on one of the known combinational optimizations: differential evolution.
