Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a technology with its application and tools has transformed almost every aspect of our lives. AI has witnessed extensive growth in the past decade, due to the enhanced power of computing and the wide range of tools and technologies that have been introduced and developed. Though notwithstanding the current stage, Artificial Intelligence has gone through its fair share of inexplicable fluctuations in the past. This research paper aims to help the researchers and practitioners better understand the growth of AI and the obstacles in its advancements as they build focus on the next development of AI and related technologies. The paper's objective is to provide valuable insights into the evolution of Artificial Intelligence as a technology and take lessons for the future. This research has been conducted based on the literature review of relevant books, articles, papers published on this subject. By understanding the evolution of AI through its ebbs and flows, the researchers can anticipate and be prepared for any vicissitude that could be a stumbling block in the truly remarkable growth of this technology which has made a far-reaching and wide-ranging impact.
