Lara Dourado Vasconcelos Nascimento, Paulo Caetano · 2023
Internet of Things and Blockchain are technologies which lately have been quite explored in researches both in academia and industry. The former is gaining space in applications related to smart environments, whilst the later evolves as an infrastructure to support the development of distributed applications. As far as the convergence between these two emerging areas is concerned, researches propose the use of blockchain to build more reliable and robust IoT systems. This paper presents both technologies, as well as the main advantages and challenges on the integration between them. Furthermore, some proposed architectures are discussed, in order to demonstrate the impact of using blockchain in current IoT systems.
