In today’s world, it is more important than ever to be aware of the dangers of cyber security threats. With the increasing reliance on technology, our personal and professional lives are at risk if we do not take the necessary precautions to protect ourselves. While there are many steps that individuals can take to improve their cyber security posture, organisations also have a responsibility to educate their employees about these risks. By implementing an effective cyber security awareness program, businesses can help keep their employees safe and secure online. There are several reasons why cyber security awareness is so important in today’s world. Firstly, the amount of sensitive information that we store online has increased dramatically in recent years. This includes everything from financial information and medical records to work documents and personal photos. If this data falls into the wrong hands, it could be used for identity theft or other malicious purposes. Secondly, we now use our devices for much more than just communication; we rely on them for work tasks, entertainment, shopping, and managing our finances. This means that if our devices are compromised, we could lose access to critical services or even face financial ruin. Finally, as our devices become increasingly interconnected, they provide hackers with new opportunities to gain access to sensitive data or wreak havoc on entire systems. For example, a hacker could disable traffic lights or turn off power grids remotely if they gained control over connected devices. Given all these risks, everyone needs to be aware of how to protect themselves from potential attacks. Individuals can take steps such as using strong passwords to encrypt their data and installing antimalware software. However, these measures alone are not enough. Organisations also need to play a role in promoting cybersecurity awareness among their employees. An effective cyber security awareness program will include training on topics such as identifying phishing emails, recognising social engineering attacks, and understanding how to use encryption properly. By providing this type of education, employees will be better equipped to protect themselves against cyber security threats and the organisation can minimize their overall risk exposure. This deliverable reports on the development of the Cyber Security Training Module and the Chatbot app that are part of the SECANT platform. This deliverable reports on the initial version of the two components. A report on the second development cycle of this task describing the advancements of the Cyber Security Training Module (CSTM) and the Chatbot app into the SECANT platform respectively will be documented in the deliverable D5.2 “SECANT cyber awareness training platform final version” (due on M24)
