Fog computing is introduced to address the flaws associated with cloud computing (CC) that affect quality of service (QoS) requirements. With the development of the Internet of Things (IoT), the number of mobile terminal devices among various users is rapidly increasing. As a result, the massive amount of data generated by these mobile terminal devices results in high levels of makespan, total cost, energy consumption (EC), and delay. High EC in mobile devices has a negative impact on QoS for the end user in the majority of cases. In this context, this chapter seeks to identify a trade-off strategy for balancing EC and delay using a honey bee algorithm with threshold value. The iFogSim simulator is used for extensive experiments with standard honey bee and standard particle swarm optimization (PSO). The simulated results proved that the proposed method reduced the energy and delay consumption by nearly 4–5% when compared to the existing techniques
