Edge Cloud Computing-Based Model for IoT

Arvind Kumar, Raj Kishor Verma, Rupa Rani · 2023

IoT and edge computing are hot topics. The cloud supports IoT software as a core component of the architecture. IoT connects, monitors, and regulates system characteristics automatically. IoT devices provide massive amounts of data that must be analysed before making judgments. IoT devices can do more with cloud servers. Using cloud computing at the network’s edge may increase performance, costs, and congestion. It hinders resource management, application monitoring, and device deployment. This special issue strives to increase the depth, breadth, and clarity of previously approved submissions. These pieces address new issues. Cloudifying IoT is explored in depth, with talks on state-of-the-art and active initiatives such as fog infrastructure for IoT, fog resource optimization for IoT applications, and security and privacy advancements in cloud fog settings. Cloud services don’t support real-time applications. Edge computing reduces response time. IoT devices query edge servers. Edge servers reduce cloud load and speed system response. This article discusses Edge-based IoT’s architecture, bandwidth, security, energy, and payload.
