Agriculture plays a vital role in the economy of not only India but also many more countries in the world like China, Brazil, etc., but the condition of a farmer is degrading day by day due to conventional methods of farming, which directly affects the economy and the lifestyle of the farmer. Hence, we have proposed the smart and reliable agriculture using the thrust technologies like Internet of Things (IoT), cloud and Fog that will boost the agriculture sector and the farmer’s income through smart farming. The advancement of IoT, Fog and cloud computing has upheld analysts to carry out automation in agribusiness to help farmers. Using sensors to find humidity, temperature, soil dampness, water level and pH will give a plan to dynamic cultivation, which will increase the efficiency and cope with the challenges. The introduction of the IoT and fog has ushered in a new era of agricultural research. Various case studies are offered to investigate existing IoT-based solutions implemented by various organizations and individuals, as well as to categorize them depending on their exploitation factor. The smart agriculture, also known as precision agriculture, is thought to play an important role in enhancing numerous farming activities. The fast spread of connectivity has given rise to IoT-based agricultural management solutions. It is critical to bring data processing closer to the source of its generation in order to reduce latency in supporting real-time decisions based on the data provided. Adoption of fog-based models can help with this. An IoT-Fog-based approach towards the farming can be more skilful for the effective bandwidth use and lesser delay for making the decision in real time.
