In order to address certain bottlenecks arising in real life applications such as urban planning, communication network addressing, coding theory etc., the graph labeling methods come in handy.This is true for both difference labeling (like graceful labeling) and additive labeling (like harmonious labeling) methods in graph theory.A crisp note regarding the importance of graph labeling methods are discussed in addition to a probe on a possible variation of harmonious labeling called properly odd harmonious labeling.As a result of this certain interesting existence and non-existence results were derived for some classes of graphs.
