Xingquan Zhu, Sanjay Ranka · 2022 IEEE International Conference on Data Mining Workshops (ICDMW) · 2022

Program Committee ChairsWelcome to the 22 nd IEEE International Conference on Data Mining (ICDM-2022)!Since its inception in 2001, the ICDM conference series become a premier forum for researchers, users, practitioners, and developers to exchange and disseminate not only original research results but also new research directions in data mining. After two years being organized online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 22nd IEEE ICDM is being hosted this year in Orlando, Florida as a faceto-face meeting! The ICDM conference is truly an international forum.During its over two-decade history, the conference has been held in twelve countries around the world. This is the third time that the conference is organized in the Sunshine state! It is our great pleasure to welcome everyone to ICDM 2022 and to present its proceedings to you. This year's conference was highly competitive. We received 885 submissions from 54 different countries/regions across the globe. After initial screening, 870 submissions entered the review process.Following previous years' policy, we implemented a triple-blind review process, ensuring that the reviewers do not know the identity of the authors or of the other individuals reviewing the same submission. This process is intended to remove bias during the paper discussions. Each paper was sent to three reviewers and one senior PC who coordinated the review/discussion process. After PC review and discussion, the SPCs submitted their recommendations, and we consolidated all SPCs' recommendations and made the final decision. As a result of this lengthy process, only 85 regular papers and 89 short papers were accepted. This corresponds to a full paper acceptance rate of 9.77% and an overall acceptance rate of 20%.Of all submissions, 66.2% of them had student first authors.Of all accepted papers, 79.2% of them had student first authors! These authors represent the future of our field!
