A Publish-Subscribe Content Synchronization Scheme Based on Multicast Tree in NDN

As a new network architecture, the content-centric model of Named Data Networking (NDN) is gradually replacing the host-centric model of the current Internet. Meanwhile, to meet the requirements of various network applications on content synchronization, we propose a publish-subscribe content synchronization scheme based on multicast tree for NDN. A multicast tree taking the content publisher as the root and covering all content subscribers is built. Moreover, some intermediate nodes with the larger out-degrees and the more received content publish are chosen as the key-nodes. Thus, the in-networking caching of these key-nodes in the multicast tree are fully utilized to help content publishing and subscription. They cache the content update pushed by the content publishers, and the content subscribers can take content from the caching of these key-nodes, not the original content publishers, which can decrease the content acquirement delay and improve the content synchronization efficiently. Extensive experiments have been conducted on DFN and Deltacom to demonstrate its performance, and the results show that the proposed PSync_MT has lower average content acquirement delay etc., compared to PSync and PSync_BMS.
