Cryptographic communication in IoT edge devices is threatened by side-channel attacks because devices can be physically taken away. Many countermeasures against power analysis attacks exist, but the cost of these countermeasures is an increase in implementation area. This paper proposes and evaluates an extremely lightweight countermeasure for power analysis attacks on dedicated circuit for AES in IoT edge devices.
