Global technological progress has increased the demand for software applications to manage new technology and employ it in various fields. Moreover, it has contributed to the emergence of a new approach in software development, which is (software globalization), that is, global software development (GSD) by building global virtual teams (GVT) that are geographically spread and different Culturally, you can work from anywhere in the world without the need to be in one place or to see each other daily. Teams communicate with each other through information and communication technology (such as e-mail, telephone, and online video conferencing) and through which information and data are exchanged, which helped reduce travel costs between company branches and reduce the money, time, and effort required to develop software. (GVTs) spread to benefit from the diversity of global expertise and obtain them at low wages in addition to the possibility of working 24 hours and seven days a week, in addition to the proximity to the markets, which helped to understand the requirements of the market and customers and reduce the time for the product to reach the markets, which helped to develop programs Global high quality and affordable cost that can compete and meet the needs of the global software market. A set of challenges and factors have emerged that face (GVTs), represented by: (Leadership, Communication, Cultural differences, Language problems, Time-zone differences, Lack of trust, Group Cohesion, training, Coordination of Expertise, Mutual Support, Team size, ICT problems, ….)These factors have greatly affected the performance of (GVTs) in developing global software. This paper aims to conduct a literature review to determine the Challenges Performance Facing Global Virtual Teams In Global Software Development.
