Telecommunication networks and their security can benefit from the deployment of software-defined networks. SDN must emphasize topics such as Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) protection, resilience, packet forwarding and tracing, environment-based flexibility, and so on. This article investigates the literature on various security attacks and their present countermeasures in order to comprehend the visibility of the assaults in SDN and map out a technique to prevent them. The framework which describe about vulnerabilities address in the early paper and also about the proposed techniques used to detect and prevent the attack on SDN mainly on DDOS attack on SDN in specific to controller, to use of up to date security dataset for detection prevention methods. High accuracy generation algorithm, low False alarm rate, Precision rate are taken in account to improve the security.
