This collection consists of two documents: File “Guidelines.PDF”: this document contains the preliminary guidelines for manual annotation of word senses in Latin and ancient Greek corpora. These guidelines were conceived within the project ‘A new CLARIN Resource Family for lexical semantic change research’ between November 2022 and June 2023, funded by CLARIN-ERIC. The project team includes Paola Marongiu (researcher) and is led by Barbara McGillivray (King’s College London) in collaboration with Fahad Khan (ILC-CNR). File “wordlist_latinise_4.xlsx”: this spreadsheet contains data and corpus analysis of wordlists extracted from the Latin corpus LatinISE, version 4 (McGillivray & Kilgarriff 2013). This analysis can be used to estimate the corpus frequency counts of various wordlists and the proportion of the total corpus frequency counts of all Latin lexical words (nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs). a. Tab “LatinISE_word_frequency_list”: contains the list of all LatinISE lemmas (column B) with their frequencies (column A). Additional columns indicate whether the lemma appears in one of the other wordlists (see b., c., d., and g.). b.Tab “LWN_lemmas” contains the unique list of lemmas from the version of Latin WordNet (LWN) manually corrected by the LiLa project (Litta et al. 2013). c.Tab “100_frequent_words” contains a manual selection of 100 lemmas with high frequency in LatinISE. d.Tab “100_medium_frewuency_words” contains a manual selection of 100 lemmas with medium frequency in LatinISE. e.Tab “frequency_estimates” contains a summary of the frequencies of the different word lists in LatinISE. f.Tab “frequency_list_pos” contains the frequency counts of each part-of-speech in LatinISE. g.Tab “selected_wordlists” contains manually curated lists of Latin medical terms, legal terms, and lemmas from the lexical fields of Writing and Body Parts.
