Typically, infected cell detection and life stage classification are analyzed through microscopic blood smear images by trained professionals. With the success of deep learning techniques, such work can be done under low human resource cost and in a more efficient way. In this study, a two-stage deep learning system is proposed, including a malaria-infected cell detection model and a parasite life stage classification model. Two models were evaluated through the public dataset, and showed that the proposed system provides referable results.
