This paper focuses on the Web of Things (WoT), which utilizes Web technologies to solve the fragmentation problem faced by the Internet of Things (IoT). As an example of fragmentation, the problem of acquiring sensor information and controlling devices in a mixed environment of two types of IoT systems is discussed. For this purpose, Node-RED, which enables interconnection of multiple IoT services, and CHIRIMEN, a WoT infrastructure implemented on a Raspberry Pi 3, will be used to interoperate systems via JavaScript. Data formats and communication protocols were defined to ensure consistent lighting control based on sensor information from either of the two types of AI speakers. These are in accordance with the JSON-LD and HTTP protocol bindings specified in the W3C’s WoT standardization standards. The system has actually been implemented and verified to work without problems. This showed that WoT implementation is possible on a lightweight computer such as the Raspberry Pi.
