Abstract This chapter discusses creating the best, most resonant sound possible with the bow through maintaining a constant bow speed; a straight bow; creating a plane between the arm and the bow that never changes regardless of which string is being played; leading with the wrist rather than the elbow; keeping a constant “natural” bow hold that is relaxed, open, and flexible; always approaching the string from above.
