Image Classification Using the Method of Convolutional Neural Networks

Science and technology have progressed in recent years, image classification has taken on great importance in improving work efficiency and received increasing attention in people's daily lives. Image classification can be applied to various areas such as medical treatment, face recognition, satellite image classification, plant disease, and pest detection, deeply influencing our lives. This article gives an overview of image classification using convolution neural networks (CNN). First, the background, development and application of image classification are expounded, as well as the definition of CNN and its development. Then, five classic CNN network structures and some of their applications are illustrated, and the advantages and disadvantages of the five models are also analyzed. Finally, an outlook for the future is presented.
