The increase in the number of internet-connected devices is one of the most significant current discussions. Everything connected to the internet has value; the connection of these devices to the internet causes a large amount of data to be generated and needs to be processed in a short response time. This problem attracted the attention to finding a solution to reduce the required time and processing of the processed data. Edge computing is considered the perfect technology solution that facilitates data processing at the edge of the network. Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) techniques enhance the data transmission rate. However, it is important to shed the light on the energy awareness in task offloading and resource allocation This work studies the performance of mobile edge computing in the process of task offloading, this has been done by investigating the results acquired from altering the number of tasks, MEC servers, and IoT devices on the overall performance of edge computing in terms of latency and energy.
