Operator interface to a distributed microcomputer system

The distributed microcomputer system consists of an arbitrary number of independent microcomputers having a common shared memory. The system is intended for use in situations requiring a large amount of real-time computation. When work began on the distributed microcomputer system, the requirements for the operator control program were vague. As the work progressed on the system it was necessary to implement portions of the control program for use in observing the system behavior. What evolved from this process was a unique and useful concept.
