A Review Paper for the Role of Cryptography in Network Security

Protecting the security and privacy of data has become extremely important in this period, especially with the increase in new technologies and the adoption of government and private agencies in converting all procedures from traditional paper to electronic data. Therefore, sending and receiving data requires continuous protection from any attacks that may be exposed to it that may lead to breaking confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Cryptography is one of the consent of network security basic concepts. It mainly depends on various algorithms for protection. The aim is to convert plain text to unreadable texts to protect them from penetration of confidentiality and integrity. In this paper, we cover the importance of encryption in network security and review some methodologies for encryption in network security and its role in protection.
